The Arc of Winnebago, Boone and Ogle Counties is relocating in Rockford

News

The Arc of Winnebago, Boone and Ogle Counties, which provides a variety of services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families, is moving its headquarters.

Currently located at 1222 E. State Street, beginning Wednesday October 31, The Arc will begin operating at the Tumilowcz Center for Scouting at 2820 McFarland Road in Rockford, according to a press release sent out Monday morning.

The move will allow for a larger space for an expanding art program as well as allow easier accessibility to services for Boone and Ogle county residents.

“This opportunity is a positive move forward for an agency who is a bedrock in the community serving individuals with an intellectual and/or developmental disability,” said The Arc Board President Jenny Clifford. “The modern facility is more centrally located to all counties The Arc serves.”

For clients living in the downtown Rockford area, there is a bus stop located directly in front of the new building.

The Arc’s services includes resource and referral materials, guardianship assistance, service facilitation, money management, social activities, skills training and advocacy.
