The Discovery Center hosted their annual Chocolate Sundae Sunday event

Even though it was a  snowy start to the Sunday, it’s the best day of the week for an ice cream sudae,  and who better to eat one with than guys that work and play on the ice.  The Discovery Center played host to some of the Rockford IceHogs for their annual Chocolate Sundae Sunday.  Kids and players a like lined up to dig into some yummy treats, and do crafts, and listen to the East High School band play.  Even Hammy Hog got in on some action, dishing out out high fives and posing for photo ops.  But everyone’s favorite part was of course the make your own sundae line, with endless topping combinations.

“In addition to making their own sundae we got lost of different toppings. They can have carmel, they can have chocolate sauce, whatever they want, lots of sprinkles. We’ve got milk. The milk and the ice cream were actually donated by Dean foods so that can make their own sundaes”, Discovery Center’s Marketing Director Ann Marie Walker said.

If you want to combine learning and hockey even more, next weekend on Sunday the IceHogs will take turns playing host to the Discovery Center for Discovery Night where live experiments and even one of Thomas the Tank Engine’s friends will make a cameo.
