Sara Dady to challenge Kinzinger for 16th District Congressional seat

Bruce Rauner claims victory in Republican gubernatorial primary

With 88% of precincts reporting, Kwame Raoul (30%) still leads his nearest challenger, Pat Quinn (28%) for the Democratic nomination for Illinois Attorney General.

10:18 p.m.

Voters in the Illinois county that includes Chicago have backed the recreational use of marijuana in a nonbinding referendum.

We’re calling it: Gary Caruana for the Republican Winnebago County Sheriff nominee. He’ll face Democrat Bob Springer in the November 6th general election.

10:07 p.m.

Adam Kinzinger has defeated James Marter to remain the Republican candidate for the 16th Congressional District nomination. Kinzinger has held the seat for the past six years.

9:59 p.m.

The Illinois Republican governor nominee race is still close between Bruce Rauner (52% – 279,146 votes) and Jeanne Ives (48% – 259,728 votes).

9:55 p.m.

FINALS: Erika Harold is the Republican nominee for Illinois Attorney General, and Paul Stoddard is the Democratic nominee for the 70th District Representative to the Illinois House.

Home Rule has been defeated in Rockford.

9:38 p.m.

Home Rule doesn’t seem to have much hope of passing in Rockford. With 92% of precincts reporting, the vote stands at No (53%) to Yes (47%).

9:31 p.m.

Kwame Raoul (31%) leads Pat Quinn (27%) for the Illinois Attorney General Democratic ticket, while Erika Harold maintains a 60% lead over Garry Grasso (40%) on the Republican side.

9:25 p.m.

David Snyders is ahead of Stephen Schaible by approx 800 votes (58% to 42%) for Republican nominee for Stephenson County Sheriff.

9:24 p.m.

FINALS: Road Tax Question for Village of Stockton passes, Yes (65%) to No (35%); Park District Land Sale Question Dixon Park District passes, Yes (67%) to No (33%).

9:22 p.m.

Winnebago County Board leaders: Jim Webster for District 2 (9% reporting); David Boomer for District 4 (25% reporting); Paul Arena for District 7 (10% reporting); John Butitta for District 8 (6% reporting); Jas Bilich for District 20 (11% reporting).

9:18 p.m.

Andy Schroeder is projected to win the Republican nomination for Stephenson County District G County Board Member.

Paula Meyer (66%) leads Melissa Lawrence (34%) as the Republican Treasurer of Lee County, with 31% precincts reporting.

Hill, Guilford, Scales Mound Rate Increase for Jo Daviess County has failed, with 55% to 45% No.

And regarding the Alcohol Prohibition Question for Buckeye Township, Stephenson County – the measure has passed, 58% to 42%, with 100% precincts reporting.

Gary Caruana leads Kurt Ditzler by over 2,700 votes in the race for Winnebago County Sheriff on the Republican side.

Lori Gummow (64%) is in the lead over Maggie Luke (19%) and Nancy Edwardson (17%) for the Republican Winnebago County Clerk ticket.

8:50 p.m.

JB Pritzker has clinched the win to become the Democratic nominee for governor.  He’s maintaining a heady lead over Daniel Biss and his other challengers, with 44% of the vote.

It’s a tight race for Governor Bruce Rauner. Only 8,560 votes separate him from Jeanne Ives, with 24% of precincts reporting.

Sarah Dady (37%) leads Neill Mohammad (29%), Amy Briel (21%), and Beth Vercolio-Osmund (14%) for the Democratic nomination for the 16th District U.S. Congress seat, with 20% of votes counted.

Adam Kinzinger (69%) leads Jim Marter (31%) for the Republican nomination for the 16th District.

Boone County Sales Tax Increase for Public Safety Funding fails, with 54% to 46% against, 100% reporting.

Erika Harold (62%) leads Gary Grasso (38%) for the Republican nomination for Illinois Attorney General, with 11% of precincts reporting.

So far, the Rockford Home Rule vote stands at 72% No, 28% Yes, with 1% of the votes in.

Results are starting to come in.

Early numbers show a 55%-45% margin between Illinois Republican gubernatorial candidates Bruce Rauner and Jeanne Ives. On the Democrat side, JB Pritzker leads 45%, with his closest challenger, Daniel Biss, at 29%.

Sara Dady leads her rivals for the Democratic nomination for the 16th Congressional District, at 35%, while Republican Adam Kinzinger leads his opponent Jim Marter 65% to 35%.
