Therapy dogs allowed back to OSF Saint Anthony after COVID-19 pandemic

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center’s therapy dog program has resumed, after being on hiatus during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The fluffy volunteers have visited the hospital’s patients for decades.

Therapy dogs and their handlers visit waiting areas, common places, and nursing units.

The dogs are still not allowed in patient rooms until further guidance is issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
