Thousands of shoppers from across the Midwest are expected to show up in Roscoe this weekend, as the town hosts the 13th annual ‘Nellie’s Barn Sale,’ which attracts vintage enthusiasts from at least five states.
The event is held off of Main Street in Roscoe where 65 vendors will be selling a large variety of vintage items in a two acre field. It’s held Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm both days, $5 entry.
“Our vendors come from not only Illinois, but also Wisconsin, and as far as Indiana, Michigan and Florida,” said ‘Nellie’s Barn Sale’ organizer Ann Campos. “This isn’t your grandmother’s antique show or flea market. Our show is a juried event with vendors chosen based on their curated goods.”
Campos says recent trends of re-purposing almost every kind of found object has resulted in a significant growth in popularity for vintage items.
This year’s event will feature live music, several food vendors and a henna tattoo station.
Part of the proceeds of the event go to Roscoe Boy Scout Troop 620.
