Thousands Remain Without Power in Winnebago County

As of 10 a.m., nearly 160 outages across Winnebago County have more than 7,000 people without electricity. The outages are also impacting plenty of services around Rockford.

The Crusader on West State Street remains without power causing patients scheduled there to go to alternative locations where their providers have been transferred. Crusader’s “CareNow” walk-in clinic is available at two locations, with no appointments necessary, on Alpine and Broadway.

Ellis Elementary School’s summer programs are canceled today, including summer school, because of a power outage there.

Winnebago County Sheriff Gary Caruana has also issued a Temporary No Wake Order for the Rock River within Winnebago County due to high river levels and the anticipated additional rainfall tonight and tomorrow.

Services at other businesses across the region are also being impacted by power outages. It’s encouraged to contact those locations before heading out to assure services can be provided.
