Three Iowa men arrested for theft from Dixon Walmart

Three Iowa men have been arrested for allegedly stealing more than $300 worth of items from a Dixon Walmart store.

Police say around 6:51 a.m. on Thursday, they were called to the Walmart at 1640 South Galena Avenue for a reported retail theft.

Employees told police that a male suspect entered the store and filled his cart with several expensive items, and then fled through the emergency exit.

The suspect was picked up by a blue pick-up truck.

At approximately 7:49 a.m., Illinois State Troopers located the truck on Round Grove Road, south of Route 30. 

Three men inside were detained until Dixon P.D. could arrive on scene, where it was determined that all three had participated in the theft.

Travis Peterson, 40, of Clinton, Iowa, was charged with Theft by an Emergency Exit, and Retail Theft over $300.

Brandon Linder, 33, of Clinton, Iowa, was charged with Retail Theft over $300.

Brent Witt, 47, of Clinton, Iowa, was charged with Retail Theft over $300, and Retail Theft Subsequent Offense.

All three men were taken to the Lee County Jail.
