Three people, including an infant, were killed in a single car crash on Jo Daviess County on Saturday.
The Sheriff’s Office says the accident happened at around 7:50am.
Investigators determined that a car, being driven by 26-year-old Scott Link of Hanover, left the roadway while traveling southbound on State Highway 84, near the intersection of West Sawmill Road. It then traveled into a ditch, rolled on its side, and then slid back across the highway. They say the car then hit a fence and a tree before coming to rest on its top.
Link’s passengers, 22-year-old Haylee Hovis of Hanover, and an unidentified infant, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
Link was rushed to a hospital where he died of his injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
