Three Stateline Schools Take Top Prizes in Hometown Throwdown


Three local high schools take top honors in’s Hometown Throwdown competition.

The schools competed for the most views on their sports stories submitted to the Hometown Throwdown Sports Page on our website.

West Carroll High School was presented a 3rd place for $500 in scholarship money.  River Ridge High School came in 2nd and Warren High School claimed first.  

“I liked videotaping all of the different plays and sports and getting to cut up the clips and editing the videos,” said West Carroll senior Kaylee Plattenberger.  “It was a really good experience.”

Freeport Health Network presented the scholarship checks Monday, which totaled $3,500.  The competition ran from August through March.
