A Rockford man accused of attempted murder is in custody, thanks to a tip.

The tip led officers from four law enforcement agencies, including Rockford Police, Beloit Police, and the Rock Co. Sheriff’s Dept., to a home on Wisconsin Avenue just off Park Avenue in Beloit.

Investigators found William Opsahl IV inside.  He was wanted for breaking into a home on Yonge St. in Rockford last month.  Police say he nearly beat the victim to death.  The two had what police describe as a domestic relationship.  Opsahl now faces several charges.  The most serious is attempted murder.

He’s currently being held in the Rock Co. Jail and will be extradited to Winnebago County.
