Rockford athletes will get a chance to prove they’re tough enough.
The Tough Mudder challenge will be held in May at the Chicago Rockford International Airport. Tough Mudder is an endurance event series in which participants attempt 10-16 mile-long military-style obstacle courses.
More than 10,000 people are expected to participate in the Rockford event.
Tough Mudder organizers eleased more details on Wednesday about what participants can expect the course to look like. They say anyone who ran in its prior Chicago events will be surprised by some of the new offerings they’ll face.
“We have swamps. We have streams. We have wooded areas. We have an open fields area,” says Tough Mudder’s Senior Operations Manager, Tina Fekula. “It’s a very diverse property and it’s going to be an exciting offering for anyone coming out this year.”
