Trial Begins In 2010 Rockford Murder Case


The trial for a Chicago man facing charges from a 2010 Rockford murder began on Tuesday.

Attorneys for both the State and the defense delivered their opening statements in the case against Clifton Wyatt, 24.  Police say he shot and killed 37 year-old LaDarrick Torry after breaking into an apartment on Sage Drive in Rockford.  Officers say they found Torry dead on the ground with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Wyatt’s charged with 1st degree murder.
