Two arrested for shooting weapon, drug charges early Friday A.M.


ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — 24-year-old Aaliyah Ketton, of Loves Park, and 19-year-old Matthew Love, of Stockton, were arrested on drug and weapons charges in Rockford on Friday morning.

Rockford Police say they were called to the area of Pierpont Avenue and Cunningham Street around 4:30 a.m. on a report of a shooting.

While en route, officers saw a vehicle leaving the area and stopped the car near Delaware Street and Concord Avenue.

Police say two adult males, and adult female and a juvenile female were in the vehicle.

Officers uncovered a loaded handgun and a backpack containing a scale, marijuana and cocaine.

The driver, Ketton, was arrested on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Cannabis.

The front seat passenger, Love, was arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Reckless Discharge, Criminal Defacement of a Firearm, and no FOID card.

The two passengers were released without charge.
