Rockford police have arrested two men in connection with a shooting at a party last February that left one man dead and another wounded. Another suspect in the shooting remains at large.
The shooting happened February 15th at around 2am in the 1100 block of Cunningham St. Police arrived to learn an argument had broken out at a party that led to gunfire. 20-year-old Brandon Taylor of Rockford died as a result of gunshot wounds while a second victim, 22-year-old Jaylen Clemons of Elgin, suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
An investigation by the Rockford Police Violent Crimes Unit has led to charges filed against three suspect, two of whom were already in the Winnebago County Jail on unrelated charges.
In custody are 26-year-old Domonique Walker and 36-year-old Tyrone Pearson, both of Rockford.
At large is 24-year-old Shawnqual Layne, also of Rockford.
All three men are charged with Unlawful Use of Weapons by a Felon with a $100,000 bond.
