Two Freeport men arrested on felony firearms charges

Freeport Police executed a search warrant early Friday morning which lead to the arrest of Alvin Jones, 25, of Rockford, and Deandre Farrille, 24, of Freeport and the recovery of weapons from the residence.

Both men have prior felony convictions and are legally unable to own firearms.

Police say they searched a residence in the 400 block of Winneshiek Street at 6:20 a.m. and recovered two semi-automatic pistols and firearms ammunition.

Both men were arrested at the scene.

Jones was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon and no FOID card.

Farrille, who was on parole at the time of his arrest, is charged with Armed Habitual Criminal, 2 counts of Unlawful Possession of Weapons by a Felon, and no FOID card.
