Two killed in separate, fatal accidents in Janesville

Two Wisconsin residents were killed in separate accidents in and around Janesville over the weekend.

The Rock County Sheriff’s Office says Amanda Ryan, 50, of Janesville, was killed in a single-vehicle crash that happened in the 4000 block of West US Hwy 14 around 6:30 a.m. on Friday.

Ryan was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Then, at 11:44 a.m. on Friday, Merilyn Mitchell, 74, of Milton, was killed in a two-vehicle crash at Milton Avenue and Refset Drive.

An autopsy confirmed that Mitchell died from injuries suffered in the crash.
