Two Men Arrested on Felony Drug Charges in Belvidere

Two men from suburban Chicago were arrested in Belvidere last week after an investigation led to felony drug charges against them.

On Friday, October 13, several different police agencies, including the Rockford DEA and Belvidere/Boone County Metro Narcotics Unit, seized two kilograms of cocaine and a vehicle in the 2100 block of Gateway Center in Belvidere.

Roy A. Vazquez, 42, of Berwyn, and Efren Rodriguez-Diaz, 50, of Wheaton, were both arrested and charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance.

Following a raid at residences in Wheaton, detectives seized an additional 19 kilograms of cocaine, 4.5 kilograms of heroin, a pound of crack cocaine and $206,000 in cash.

An investigation is ongoing. Additional charges are possible.
