Two Rockford Men Arrested Following Drug Bust

Two men are placed under arrest after police raid a home in Rockford.

After executing a search warrant on Thursday, the Rockford Narcotics Unit with assistance from the D.E.A. made the arrests at a home at 1450 Woodruff Avenue. As they entered, Kevin Johnson, 32, of Rockford, attempted to flee the home through a bedroom window, but was caught. Another man, Phillip Mims, 28, of Rockford, was in the home at the time and arrested for a warrant out of Carpentersville, Illinois.

After searching the home, authorities found cannabis, cocaine and other items indicative to selling drugs.

Johnson faces charges of possession with intent to deliver 1 to 15 grams of cocaine. He is being held at the Winnebago County Jail on no bond. Mims is also being held due to the warrant out for his arrest.
