Several shootings across Rockford over the weekend left two men dead. Police have now identified those victims.

The first happened at 6 p.m. Saturday in the 300 block of Underwood Street. Police found Marlon Pendleton, 25, suffering from a gunshot wound to the back. He was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

The second shooting happened three hours later, in the 300 block of Royal Avenue. When officers arrived there they found Tyrell Dorsey, 25, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead on scene.

There were three more victims at another shooting around 10:15 on the same night in the 4100 block of Aurburn Street. All of their injuries were described as “non-life-threatening.”

Rockford Police are conducting follow up investigations into all of the incidents. All are believed to be related and  targeted, not random acts of violence.
