ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police are investigating a pair of possibly related robberies Tuesday night.

Police say the first robbery occurred around 10 p.m. in the 900 block of Kilburn Avenue, where a 64-year-old man said he was walking when he was approached by two teenage black males, one of whom was on a bike, who shined a flashlight in his face and demanded his property. The second suspect then took the victim’s property, police said, but the victim was not hurt.

At 10:45 p.m., police say they were called to South 6th Street and 3rd Avenue where a 39-year-old man had been walking when he noticed a dark blue car following him. Two suspects got out of the vehicle and approached him, and a masked suspect shined a light in his eyes while the other took his belongings. The suspects were described as black males, with one described as approximately 14-years-old and having long dreadlocks.

Anyone with information on the crimes are asked to call Rockford Police at 815-966-2900 or Crime Stoppers at 815-963-7867.
