International artist Bruce Munro’s unique light exhibit is coming to Rockford soon.
The Rockford Park District says the foundation received a $35,000 grant for the show, adding that their hope for it is that it will draw visitors to the stateline.
The exhibit will be held at the Nicholas Conservatory and Gardens.
Organizers say during the installation and the exhibit, hundreds of volunteers will be needed.
“The whole purpose of Bruce Munro is to create a community exhibit done by the community,” said Kelly Moore, Facility Manager at Nicholas Conservatory. “To transform Rockford, I think this will be a good step and a good win for us to be welcoming so many visitors to the community.”
The exhibit will be only the 8th large scale garden of its kind in the country. It will run from June until November.
