University of Illinois Student Pleads Not Guilty To Killing Newborn Son

A University of Illinois student pleads not guilty Tuesday to killing her newborn son.

Lindsay Johnson, 20, is charged with first degree murder after police say she choked her baby, Robert, to death.  Johnson allegedly told investigators she had the stomach flu, but had actually given birth in a campus dorm.  Police then say she tried to hide the child’s body in her backpack.  Johnson is currently out on bail.

Johnson’s trial is expected to begin in May.
