Winnebago County State’s Attorney Joe Bruscato announced Thursday afternoon that former North Boone High School teacher and coach Scott Brady is charged with several counts of sexual assault and abuse.
The allegations against Brady reportedly happened between December 2015 and December 2016 at locations in Winnebago County. The inappropriate relationship was allegedly between Brady and a child under the age of 18.
Brady resigned from North Boone last December.
He’s charged with four counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
A former North Boone High School teacher and coach will be issued criminal charges on Thursday, according to a release by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office.
The name of that teacher has not been released.
A news conference is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. on Thursday where State’s Attorney Joe Bruscato will announce specifics on the charges. North Boone Superintendent Dr. Michael Greenlee will release a statement to the media at that time.
Less than a week ago, North Boone special education and math teacher Sarah Myers, 40, of Garden Prairie, was charged with criminal sexual assault of a student under the age of 18 by the Boone County State’s Attorney’s Office. It is not clear if Thursday’s announcement is at all related.
Eyewitness News will have a reporter present at tomorrow’s news conference.
