UPDATE: Janesville Woman Accused of Embezzling from High School

UPDATE:  Janesville police have released more details on the woman accused of embezzling money from Janesville Craig High School.

The allege that Jessica Warner-Reed, who worked as a bookkeeper at the school, was able to steal in excess of $300,000 over a period from 2006 through 2015.

They say they have reviewed thousands of financial documents since receiving a tip in July, and the Wisconsin Department of Revenue did a companion investigation that revealed tax violations.

Warner-Reed turned herself in and will appear in court on January 25th.


Police have arrested a Janesville woman after a six month investigation of embezzlement from a Janesville High School.

They say that in July of 2015, the School District of Janesville reported possible embezzlement by a Craig High School employee.  That investigation led to the arrest of 33-year-old Jessica L. Warner-Reed

Police say she faces the following charges.

  • 1 Count Embezzlement >$10,000.
  • 1 Count Misconduct in Public Office.
  • 10 Counts Forgery.
  • 6 Counts Tax Fraud.

More details will be released at a news conference to be held by law enforcement and school officials on Wednesday morning.
