UPDATE – The victim of Thursday morning’s shooting on S. Court Street has been identified.
He is Agustin Moreno, 51, of Rockford. An autopsy is pending. Rockford Police continue to investigate.

UPDATE – Rockford Police have confirmed that a 51-year-old male was killed Thursday morning following a shooting on South Court Street.
In an official statement, police say they responded to a call of a shooting victim at 6:30 a.m. to the location, where they located a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He died a short time later.
The victim’s name has not yet been released, pending notification of the next of kin.
No arrests have yet been made, as the incident is still under investigation.

Rockford Police are on the scene of a shooting in the 1400 block of South Court Street.
Several police officers are on the scene. Police do say a man was taken to the hospital. A press conference is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. We’ll update you as soon as information becomes available.
