UPDATE (3:23pm) – Cruz Delegate, Jan Klaas, told Eyewitness News that the presidential candidate has canceled his scheduled trip to Rockford. She says a busy schedule forced Cruz to change plans.
Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz will appear in Rockford on Friday.
It has been confirmed to Eyewitness News that Sen. Cruz (R-TX) will be in town at 2:30 p.m. Rumors are he’ll be campaigning at the Rockford airport.
Cruz is currently polling third in Illinois behind Donald Trump and Marco Rubio. Cruz has won 7 state caucuses and primaries in the 2016 campaign. He has consistently finished second in the majority of the republican races behind Trump.
Illinois’ primary will be held Tuesday.
