UPDATE: Police continue to investigate a bank robbery which involved a vehicle pursuit of a possible suspect.
Police were dispatched to the Members Alliance Credit Union at 6951 Old Creek Road for a bank robbery just before 5pm.
The suspect was described as a white male, 40 years old wearing Tan Carhart type jacket and carrying a shovel.
He fled on foot after the robbery, and Winnebago County Sheriff’s Police and Rockford Police were involved in a vehicle pursuit of a Gold Chevrolet Tahoe (Illinois License R663295) that may have been driven by the suspect.
The vehicle was last seen in the area of Spring Creek and Starkweather where it was able to elude pursuing officers.

Rockford Police are investigating a possible bank robbery on the city’s east side.
This happened just moments ago at the Members Alliance Credit Union located at 6951 Olde Creek Road. Initial reports indicate at least one shot was fired. No word yet if anyone was hurt.
