UPDATE: Suspect Arrested After Armed Robbery of Rockford Walgreens


UPDATE: Rockford police have arrested 52-year-old Percy Baker for the robbery of a Walgreen’s pharmacy.

He faces armed robbery charges.  Police say he used a bb gun to threaten a clerk and steal cash and tobacco.


Police question a man after a robbery at a Rockford pharmacy.

Authorities responded to the Walgreens in the 1600 block of Kishwaukee Street around 7:45 Monday evening. A man there, described as a black male, 40 to 50 years old, 5’9” tall and 190 lbs, armed with a handgun. Officers were in the area at the time of the robbery and located the suspect as he attempted to flee.

The man was taken to police headquarters for questioning.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing. There were no injuries.
