UPDATE: Two People Hurt in School Bus Crash

UPDATE (4:07pm) – Investigators told Eyewitness News two girls from Roosevelt Community Education Center were driving the Buick LeSabre that ended up beneath the bus.  Police say the victims told them they were chasing after two other girls driving a red SUV when they hit the bus at a high rate of speed.  The impact forced the bus to spin.  The victims are alert and conscious at the hospital.  We’re told they suffered minor injuries.  Police are still trying to find the red SUV and the reason the girls chased after them in the first place.

17 students were on the school bus.  None of them were hurt.

First Responders are reporting at least two people were hurt in a crash involving a car and a Rockford school bus.

This happened around 3:10pm Wednesday at Winnebago and Bruce.  The Rockford Fire Department is reporting they had to extricate a victim from a car that somehow ended up underneath the side of a Rockford School bus.

Rockford Fire tweeted out there were people on the bus.  We have a crew on the scene and we’ll bring you the very latest on this situation as it develops.
