UPDATED: Man beaten, car taken at gunpoint by pair of carjackers

A man and a woman were carjacked at gunpoint on Tuesday. Rockford Police say the victims knew their attackers and the car has since been found.

At around 8:48 p.m. on Tuesday night, Rockford Police were called to 300 Hilton Avenue where a 28-year-old man claimed he had been carjacked.

According to the victim, he was driving a gray 2006 Dodge Challenger with his passenger, a 26-year-old female on Hilton Avenue when they were approached by a 30-year-old black man and a 27-year-old black female, who were both armed with handguns.

The pair beat the victim and stole the car at gunpoint. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
