UPS announced Thursday it expects to hire more than 2,000 seasonal workers in the Rockford area.
The additional hires are needed due to the anticipated increase in package volume that will begin in November and continue through January 2018.
The full and part-time seasonal positions include package handlers, drivers and driver-helpers. Driver jobs start at $19.58 per hour, package handlers at $10.20 per hour and $11.76 for driver-helpers.
UPS says up to 35% of those hired seasonally over the last three years now have permanent jobs with the company.
“Our seasonal jobs often lead to permanent employment or even careers for some, said UPS CEO David Abney. “We offer flexible shifts and full and part-time positions. If you are a student, a working mom or just looking to make extra money for the holidays, we have a job for you.”
UPS is hiring at the Rockford Air Hub located on Airport Drive. If you’re interested in applying, click here.
