Veteran’s Suicide Task Force Sets Hearings


State lawmakers are increasing efforts to help prevent veteran suicides.

They announced Tuesday the Veteran’s Suicide Task Force will hold hearings in May and June.  The U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs claims 22 veterans commit suicide every day.  The task force will gather information on how the state can better meet the needs of the veteran community.

A series of meetings will be held throughout the state.  Here are the two closest meetings to the Stateline:

  • Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove – 10am – 2pm
  • Triton College in River Grove – 10am – 2pm
