Victim Shot at by Two Teen Suspects During Robbery Attempt in Rockford

Police are looking for two suspects who they say opened fire on a man sitting in his car in a Rockford apartment complex parking lot early Tuesday morning.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. in the 4200 block of Beach Street. The 44-year-old male victim told police he was sitting in his car when he was approached by the suspects, both armed with handguns. One of them fired a shot into the car as they demanded property from him.

Both suspects fled the area without stealing anything. They’re described as black males in their teens, wearing dark hooded jackets at the time. One was 5’9” tall and 150 pounds, the other around 5’6” tall and 140 pounds.

The victim was not hurt.
