Friends and family of a local man, who proved to be an influential member of the community, said their final goodbyes.
A visitation and memorial service was held at Heartland Community Church for Joe Pendergrass. He owned the Dusty Boots Saloon and Eatery. He was killed last week after getting into an argument with an acquaintance. Thousands showed up to pay their respects.
Investigators arrested Roland Breault. They say he stabbed Pendergrass to death. He’s charged with murder. The two men’s wives were allegedly involved in a lawsuit to dissolve a business partnership.
