Earlier this week, we told you about the Rockford Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau’s (RACVB) survey that hopes to find out what residents think of the local tourism scene, as well as rating the quality of life. It sent out 6,000 of them.
Tonight, we’re told they’ve heard back from 700 respondents. The organization, along with City and County leaders, as well as the Transform Rockford organization, want to use the information to figure out their next redevelopment project.
Josh Albrecht, RACVB Director of Marketing and Public Affairs, said, “We want to know if people want to see us reinvest in more public art. We want to know if people are interested in white water rapids on the Rock River, and having that installed as for kayaking, canoeing, and white water rafting all along the Rock River and downtown. We want to know if people are still fully supportive of downtown revitalization, and the investment that the City is making there.”
Albrecht says he hopes to hear back from at least 300 more people. The survey is also online. Here’s a link to the survey:
