The jury has found Benjamin Taylor guilty of the rape and murder of 10-month-old Emmaleigh Barringer.

Taylor has been found guilty on charges of first-degree murder, death of a child by child abuse, and sexual abuse by a guardian.

The jury deliberated for around two hours

Both the prosecution and defense have presented their closing arguments today.

Taylor, of Cottageville, was dating the mother of Emmaleigh at the time of the assault.

The WOWK 13 News crew inside courtroom says several jurors were stuck in this morning wreck on I-64.

There was a closed hearing this morning, meaning neither the jury, media, nor spectators were allowed inside.

WOWK 13 News reporter Jessie Shafer and Photojournalist Elbert Mosley are at the court.
