Winnebago County Animal Services pulls out all the stops during “Adopt-a-Dog” month.
All month, the shelter will waive the fees on all dogs who’ve been at the shelter the longest, as well as dogs who are at least six years old. The adoptions include a free wellness exam, spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, and even a bag of food.
“We have a lot of dogs that come into the shelter that need forever homes,” said Deputy Director Dave Kaske. “We want to find them homes. The longer they stay here, it’s harder for the animal.”
In order to adopt, you must have an approved adoption application. The promotion goes through October 31st.
