MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – Wisconsin Republican legislative leaders are considering adding tolls to the state’s roads.
According to CBS 58, Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald both said that tolling could generate some needed revenue for road repairs.
State Senator Fitzgerald also added that tolling would be a more effective revenue source than raising the gas tax. Back in 2017, former Governor Scott Walker vetoed a $2.5 million study for interstate tolling from the last state budget.
