A woman is arrested after hitting a house and fleeing the scene, all while under the influence.

The vehicle crashed into a house in the 1400 block of 18th Street around 2 a.m. Tuesday. When police arrived, they found damage to the home, but the car was gone.

An investigation led to the discovery of the vehicle a distance from the crash site. As a result, Phoebe Hildreth, 43, of Rockford, was identified as the driver. She faces the following list of charges:

  • Aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol
  • Leaving the scene of an accident
  • Driving while license revoked
  • Operation of an uninsured vehicle
  • Failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident

No one in the home was injured; a building inspector deemed the home habitable.
