Woman Arrested for Firing Shots Inside Janesville Hotel

News

Police arrest the woman they believe fired off shots inside a Janesville hotel.

Investigators say 20-year-old Latoya Hill was hiding out in a Beloit home, in the 1200 block of Hackett St. Officers saw a car leaving the house Sunday afternoon, and were able to pull it over just south of the Illinois state line. Hill was in the passenger’s seat. South Beloit police took her to the Winnebago County jail where she is awaiting extradition to Rock County.

Investigators say Hill posed as a prostitute and agreed to meet a man at the Holiday Inn Express off I-90 in Janesville. Once the two were in a room, police say Hill pointed a gun at the victim. She got some cash, but then the two began fighting. Police says Hill fired two shots, both hitting a wall. A guest just a few doors down jumped in and disarmed Hill.

No one was hurt. Hill is charged with Attempted First Degree Homicide and Armed Robbery.
