A Georgia woman has been arrested for posing as a dentist and performing dental procedures on patients.
Krista Szewczyk has been arrested for a second time for operating on patients without a license to practice.
One such procedure sent a man to the hospital for a massive abscess in his throat.
Another patient, who reportedly had two teeth pulled in 2017, suffered from unbearable pain and swelling after his procedure.
According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, she was first accused in 2012 but the case was allegedly considered a conflict of interest, since her husband was a sheriff’s deputy.
Prosecutors say Szewczyk worked in at least 18 patients. She has been charged with 48 counts including practicing without a license, unlawful prescription, forgery and insurance fraud.
