Woman found dead in Rockford, but her car crashed in Racine hours earlier


The death of a Rockford woman is now being liked to a deadly car crash in Racine County, Wisconsin.

WISN reports Destiny Tolodxi’s black 2006 Pontiac G6 GT crashed into the rear of a CAT excavator in a construction zone on I-94 at 9:20 a.m. on Friday morning, about 100 miles away from where she was found dead later.

The male driver of the car was the only person inside the car when it went up in flames and was pronounced dead at the scene and still remain unidentified. Police consider him a ‘person of interest’ in Tolodxi’s death.

Tolodxi, 24, was found dead by her sister at a house in the 600 block of Atwood Avenue, at approximately 4 p.m. on Friday. The Winnebago County Sheriff said the death was being investigated as a homicide.

The Milwaukee ABC affiliate says officials from Winnebago and Racine counties will begin working together on Monday.
