ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) – Police are searching for the person who shot a woman in the middle of the night on Friday morning.
Rockford Police said the attack happened around 12:35 a.m. in the 500 block of Fairview Avenue.
The 33-year-old victim is currently listed in critical but stable condition at a local hospital.
Police said witnesses told them the shots came from a dark-colored car.
Witnesses said the car came by and the driver and the victim exchanged words before the driver opened fire, striking the woman once in the chest.
