Woman robbed at gunpoint on S. Gardiner Avenue

Police are looking for the suspect who robbed a 26-year-old woman at gunpoint as she sat in her car.

Rockford Police say the robbery happened around 11:30 p.m. on Friday, April 19th in the 200 block of South Gardiner Avenue.

The victim told officers she was sitting in her car when a older, red pickup truck pulled up next to her. A man got out and came over to her car asking for directions, when he pulled out a handgun and demanded her money.

Police say the suspect took her purse and money and fled the area.

The suspect is described as a white male approximately 25-30 years old, blue eyes, about 5’11”, 200 pounds, last seen wearing a red and black hooded sweatshirt and a red baseball cap.
