Police were combing parts of northwest Rockford Wednesday night after residents in the area heard half a dozen gunshots, with one woman reporting a window in her home had been shot out.
Authorities believe the shots were fired around 10 p.m. in the area of Auburn Street and Huffman Boulevard. One witness reported seeing the shooter’s vehicle, a black, four-door Pontiac Grand Am with a sunroof.
Another nearby resident said her living room window had been shot out. Police processed that scene and continue to investigate the incident.
