Young at Heart Festival suspended for 2019

The Young at Heart Festival has been suspended for 2019, according to festival organizers, citing declining attendance, financial loss, and an active construction zone nearby.

“It is our hope another organization or service club will be able to carry on the event. The Parks Chamber of Commerce will now devote more time to the business members and smaller networking events,” Craig Carlson, Board Chair of the Parks Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors said in a statement Friday.

Young at Heart was first held in Martin Park starting in 1972, celebrating the then 25th anniversary of Loves Park, and became one of the longest running festivals in the area.
