The Bears have established on thing in the preseason. They’re better than the Browns.
They beat the Browns in Cleveland 21-7 Thursday despite resting their starters while the Browns played theirs.
Brian Hoyer had his best outing of the preseason. He completed 12 of 16 passes for 112 yards and a 93.8 rating. Kevin White was the only Bears starter who saw action. He caught four passes for 57 yards, by far his best outing of the preseason.
Two other players who stood out for the Bears were rookie running back Jordan Howard and receiver Cameron Meredith. Howard carried the ball 16 times for 107 yards and a 16 yard touchdown run. He also caught two passes for 33 more yards.
Meredith hauled in six receptions for 46 yards. Running back Ka’Deem Carey also had a one yard touchdown run and Robbie Gould kicked three field goals.
Christian Jones led the defense with ten tackles and 1.5 sacks. Jacoby Glenn had an interception.
The Bears finish the preseason 1-3.
