Injuries continue to strike the Bears and receiver Alshon Jeffery.
This time he has a groin injury. It happened in practice Wednesday. John Fox informed the media of it Thursday. Jeffery did not practice Thursday, instead he was receiving treatment.
His status for Sunday’s game in St. Louis is up in the air. Fox says Jeffery is day-to-day.
Jeffery has been on a roll since rejoining the lineup. In his last three games he’s topped 100 yards in receptions all three games.
Jeffery was slowed by a strained calf during the preseason. He missed four regular season games with a hamstring injury. Fox was asked if he’s worried that Jeffery is injury prone.
“No…it’s…we’re in a very physical, combative game,” said Fox to reporters. “I’ve heard medical people say well, ‘he needs some rest’. I’m like ‘No kidding’. That’s a little better for you than going out and playing 60 minutes of football on a Sunday. That’s not very restful. So, it’s just a physical game.”
