Belvidere hires St. Francis coach Koehne as new boys basketball coach

Brian Koehne has been named the new head boys basketball coach at Belvidere High School pending board approval.

Koehne has spent the past two years as an assistant coach for the men’s basketball team at the University of St. Francis in Joliet. Before that he was an assistant coach at Joliet Central Catholic.
In all Koehne has spent 16 years coaching at the high school level. He spent five seasons as the head boys coach at Wilmington High School. His records with those teams follows:

Koehne was also an assistant coach at West Aurora before taking over at Wilmington. He was part of the coaching staff on the 2002-03 team that finished third in the state.

Koehne replaces Aaron Pearson. He had been the Bucs head basketball coach for the past 11 seasons.
