The NIC-10 softball race tightened up some more Friday when Belvidere North handed Freeport only it’s second conference loss of the season.
The Blue Thunder beat the Pretzels 9-4.
Freshman Kaci Tomman had a key bases loaded single in the third inning. Lily Bakulski launched a two-run homer over the left field fence in the bottom of the fifth.
Freeport is now 10-2 in the conference 19-5 overall. Belvidere North is 8-2 in the conference. Harlem takes over first place at 9-1 in the NIC-10.
